Action laptop battery recall occurred. This time around 100,000 laptop batteries made Sony Energy Devices Corporation withdrawn from the market because it can cause excess heat (overheating) to burn.
The battery is withdrawn Lithium-ion battery Sony 2.15Ah installed in many laptop brand Hewlett-Packard, Toshiba, and Dell. These batteries sold between December 2004 and June 2006.
100,000 batteries from the withdrawn, 35,000 are in the United States (U.S.) and the rest is sold outside the United States.
According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission USA (Consumer Products Safety Commission), there have been 40 cases of accidents and almost half of them because the batteries overheating, including 17 of them involving the spray of fire, 10 minor damage, and two users to burn.

To avoid something bad happen, the notebook users suggest to remove the battery from his notebook and contact the manufacturer of notebook concerned to ask for a replacement battery.
While waiting for replacement batteries, users are advised to use the AC adapter to operate notebooknya. Consumers also are advised to use only batteries from their notebook manufacturers or from authorized resellers.
