Software won't work
I had lots of trouble running the software. It always hangs and I was not able to launch the program successully even once. My laptop is well above the requirements (Vista Premium, Core 2 Duo 2 GHZ, 2 GB RAM, nVidia GeForce 8600M GS).

I tried reinstalling 4 times and also formatted one time, but without any success. So I am returning the item. The MinoHD itself is pretty sleek and you can easily carry it with you anywhere you go. It's a shame that the program doesn't work.

2 stars for its limitations that really bothered me
- I purchased the flip minoHd and the Canon vixia hf100 to compare. After a week, I returned the flip minoHD and kept the Canon hf100.
- There were only 2 advantages of flip minoHD over Canon hf100, they both are cosmetic issues.
1) Flip minoHD is light, slim, and small
2) Very easy to use
- However, there were many limitations of flip minoHD that really bothered me. These limitations were not with Canon vixia hf100
1) No way to connect the minoHD to HDTV to play the recorded films. People tend to let you connect the camcorder to the HDTV (via hdmi) rather than to their PC/MAC to play the films. They worry more about personal, sensitive files on their PC/MAC to hand the PC/MAC to you
2) Only 1 hour recording space with minoHD. No way to put in additional flash card for more space
3) Limited battery time. No way to swap in the back up battery
4) No full HD (1080p) recording
5) No optical zoom and only 2x digital zoom.
6) No image stabilization

With the above limitations of minoHD, I felt handcuffed when compared to the Canon vixia hf100. More importantly, I only paid about 0 more to have the Canon (I paid 0 for Canon vixia hf100 + 16GB SDHC + mini hdmi cable)

The only negative of Canon vixia hf100 when compare to minoHD was the size and weight. However, its size was the can of soda. I have numerous of cargo pants and shorts so I'm fine with the Canon in my cargo pockets.

PERFECT SOLUTION FOR BUSY FAMILY WITH KIDS
I also posted to [...], but wanted to post here to to share my wonderful experience with other Mac users.

Just received this camera today and have been playing with it. It works wonderfully! Great picture for such a small camera. It does a funky auto white balance adjustment on the fly, depending on the type of lighting (i.e. going from a room with fluorescent to a hallway with incandescent, or even changing the viewing angle in the same room . . . but this is not bad).

MOST IMPORTANTLY: If you have a PowerMac and are looking for a streamlined solution for getting HD video onto your computer and/or Apple TV, THIS IS THE PERFECT SOLUTION!
Several reasons:
-No need to transcode: I've uploaded clips directly onto the desktop and directly into iTunes by simple drag and drop, and clips play perfectly both within iTunes and in standalone QT. No more transcoding with Voltaic!! WooHoo!
-Apple TV has max HD resolution of 720p anyway, so I don't have to downconvert my captures from 1080/60i or 1080/30p or 1080/24p to 720/24p to play on the Apple TV, like I currently have to with my Canon HF10.

For the cost and size, this camera takes really very very nice images. MUCH nicer than the video captures on my point and shoot camera. And surprisingly, very nice even compared to the Canon HF10!

Overall, I am incredibly pleased, this device is the perfect, perfect solution for us: compact and portable, we can take it anywhere all the time and capture those short fleeting moments of joy with the kids, then upload instantly on a PowerPC Mac and view instantly on an Apple TV connected to our plasma, where it looks wonderful. No transcoding, no downconverting, no AIC, no AVCHD to h.264 to blu-ray or whatever. Just simple. I love this camera.

Great HD Camcorder!
I loved my previous Flip so much, I could not resist the impulse to buy it in HD.

This camcorder could not be any easier to use. The personalization options make this thing even cooler!

The HD Mino is light, making it easy to carry around to capture important moments. As opposed to my other camcorder, I find myself actually using the Flip.

All you have to do it flip out the USB, plug it in (works great with Mac) and you can edit away with nifty software contained on the device itself. The software is much better than the previous generation; easy to use, lots of cool features.

The battery life is decent. I find that I plug in the Flip frequently enough to download footage that it's rarely low on batteries.

The footage looks great, even in somewhat low light, although night filming was a little more problematic. I found the sound quality crisp. Distortion caused by breezes was surprisingly minimal. You will not find better video quality for the money. The autofocus works fantastically.

My only complaint is that the screen is on the small side. I'd prefer to be able to see the benefits of the higher resolution on the device itself.

A perfect present for the holidays in my opinion.

It's Fun
This is a fun toy, not an all purpose HD camcorder. If you want a pocket sized device that takes a decent video, and has great built-in software for easy sharing and creative projects, this is the product for you. It is very easy to use. I feel like my grandmother could master the Mino in a few minutes.

I have owned it for a few days now, and I have been playing with it almost non-stop. At work, I know at least two people who have ordered them based on playing with mine. The software allows you to share the video by sending web links, capture still shots from the video, upload to a variety of websites, burn to disks, and several other features.

could be better
Like the look and feel of this watch. That said there are a few dealbreakers for me which is why I'm shopping for a new one:

1: Second hand does not glow in the dark. Not a huge issue for most people but I need it in order to do my job. 'nuff said.

2: Light only stays on as long as you hold it. If you hold it down and it changes to "light-stays-on-for-4-seconds" mode, that mode doesn't stick...an hour or so later and it's back to only lighting up while you press it. Why allow us to change the mode if I can't keep it?

3: This is the big one - THE KNOB FOR SETTING THE ANALOG CLOCK POPS OUT TOO EASILY. I am an RN and this means two things - I NEED to always know what time it is, and I do ALOT of work with my hands. I can't tell you how many times I've looked down and the clock is an hour or more off. It seems to be rubbing on my hand when my wrist is bent and just popping out. This occurs without even noticing, that's how easily this knob pops.

I don't really know the difference between a good watch and a great watch, but this one works well for me. It does everything it's supposed to do, so I'm happy.

Great watch
The watch is fantastic. This is the 4th Timex Expedition series watch I have purchased during the past 10 years and it's the best so far. Great construction, easy to read.

The only problem I had was getting the pins out to remove links to make it fit my wrist. The instructions say they are designed to be difficult to remove to keep the watch from coming apart, and they weren't kidding.

Nice Watch
This is a nice watch. As a woman I like men's watches more than artzy-fatzy, weird shaped female watches that are too often for someone who has no muscle structure. With a medium build I fit most watches - but I also tend to like bulky watches - I can usually see and fee them, and they don't choke my wrist.

Pros: Easy to read, big hands, and big wrist capacity (I like loose watches). Really is waterproof up to specifications. The indiglo works rather nicely still, which is exceptional. Price was reasonable. Gone through hell with me and came back working just fine.

Cons: Where the heck are the instructions?! The buttons are in the way, setting it is not simple - nor worth my time. But it's not that big of a deal. There really is little function to the additions unless you spend the time fooling around it. I just needed a watch I could read. This was it.
